Advanced: ABPI Code of Practice in-depth (2-day as 4 live online sessions)

This ABPI Code of Practice training course runs as a series of 4 x 2.5 hour live webinars on zoom.  £1,795 (+ VAT) per person.

Session 1:  Tuesday 16 April 2024,  2.00pm – 4.30pm
Session 2:  Wednesday 17 April 2024, 2.00pm – 4.30pm
Session 3:  Thursday 25 April 2024, 2.00pm – 4.30pm
Session 4:  Friday 26 April 2024, 2.00pm – 4.30pm

All timings are UK timings.  Recordings will be available for 1 week allowing you to catch up if you can’t make a live session.

Course overview

An interactive, practical course giving you in-depth knowledge about the key clauses in the 2021 ABPI Code of Practice.

The course will not only explain what the Code is and what it covers, but will include examples of how the Code is practically implemented.  There will be lots of examples and discussions to make the Code come alive.  We’ll also cover the key PMCPA advice notes which give essential extra information to help you interpret the Code.

On the agenda

  • Background to the ABPI Code of Practice – its origins, how it fits with the legal framework and the penalties of breaching the Code
  • How do complaints come about – how often and from whom?
  • What does the Code cover?
  • A step-by-step guide through most of the Code clauses and the relevant guidance documents, including claims, adverts, certification and examination, MSLs, Sales representatives, prescribing information, digital communications such as websites and social media, meetings and events, advisory boards, dealing with the public and press releases
  • Relevant examples highlighting key learning points from previous Code cases
  • Discussions and regular Code quizzes to check learning
  • Course completion certificate showing proof of training

  • The course is given by Jayne Packham, a professional trainer with over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry working with the Code of Practice.
