AQP training

We are delighted to announce our new self-directed eLearning courses for appropriately qualified persons (AQPs) giving you confidence to review a wide range of materials and activities.

What is an AQP – Appropriately Qualified Person?

The ABPI Code of Practice allows certain materials and activities to be examined by an Appropriately Qualified Person (AQP) if they have skills in the area they are examining. Examination includes a lot of non-promotional materials and the arrangements for UK meetings.

Examination does not have to be by a signatory and so this opens a wide range of responsible compliance roles for non-medics and pharmacists.

Having AQPs is a great way to share compliance responsibilities across a pharmaceutical company, not solely relying on final signatories.

AQPs must be knowledgeable on the topics they are examining and of course, know the ABPI Code of Practice.

About our AQP training

Our AQP training teaches you how to practically implement the ABPI Code when examining materials – the do’s and don’ts.  It is designed in a modular format giving you the flexibility to create a course to meet your needs.  Unlike other courses, you select the modules that are relevant to the materials you’re examining.  Why pay extra and spend time on irrelevant content?

These three core modules are included in the standard course:

  • AQP requirements for examination.
  • Differentiating promotional and non-promotional materials and activities.
  • Compliant information, claims and comparisons.

You then choose the specialist modules that relate to your AQP role. Two of these specialist modules are included in the standard course cost and others can be added for an extra fee.

  • Medical materials e.g. MSL slide decks, stands, MSL briefing materials, emails, advisory boards
  • Meeting arrangements and non-promotional materials for UK-based meetings e.g. venue, hospitality
  • Social media
  • Medical Information responses to enquiries from the public
  • Press/media and other announcements
  • Market research

The cost also includes a 1:1 session with Jayne Packham to answer any questions.

What is the format?

This is a self-directed, interactive eLearning course.  You can start the course at anytime, taking it at your own pace, fitting the learning around your work commitments.  You’ll have access to the AQP training modules for 12 months allowing you to go back into the resources at any time – a frequently updated library resource.

Each module includes quizzes, videos and scenarios based on real Code cases to keep you engaged and hone your Code knowledge and examination skills.

Each module has an assessment and completion certificate as proof of training.

Investment

The price starts from £1,095 + VAT per person.  This includes the three core modules and two specialist modules of your choice.  If you’d like additional specialist modules, let us know how many and we’ll send you a quote.

Who is the course suitable for?

The course is suited to people within the pharmaceutical industry who are aspiring AQPs or current AQPs who need a refresh and upskill.  You’ll have Code knowledge already.  If you don’t, please consider taking one of our other courses before taking the AQP course.
