Hot topics in Medical Information – back by popular demand

The 8th annual Hot Topics in Medical Information (MI) Conference will be a day of sharing, discussing and learning.  It is time to return to a face to face meeting in London with an opportunity to network and be inspired.  The venue has plenty of space and is the perfect relaxed environment to share and learn together.

As always we have some great speakers lined up bringing expertise and industry insights, plus discussion time.

Do you wish you could talk to other experienced MI colleagues and discuss the latest topics and challenges?  For example:

  • How can I promote our services and not be accused of soliciting enquiries?
  • How can I navigate the Code using chatbots and self-service websites?
  • How can I add value by having a clear strategy plan?
  • What should be in a strategy plan?
  • What are the big IT developments that should be on my radar?
  • Should I be worried about ChatGPT?
  • How can I develop a patient support website?
  • How can I manage Brexit with different licence information for Northern Ireland and GB enquiries and response documents?

If you’d like answers to any or all of these questions, join us for a day of sharing, learning and discussion.

On the agenda

Experiences of developing a MI led patient resource website
Jess Burgess, Medical Information Lead, AstraZeneca

Learn how the team have set up and manage a patient resource website.

Developing your Medical Information strategy plan
Jayne Packham, Jayne Packham Consultancy

Do you have a Medical Information strategy plan in place to get results? Having run a successful business for 23+ years, Jayne will share why a strategic plan is needed, what it should contain and will share a strategy framework that we’ll start working on. As the saying goes, a goal without a plan is just a wish.

Adding value through Medical Information strategy
Liz Rance, Head of EMEA Medical Information, Eisai Ltd

An interactive session discussing practical ways to ensure MI is seen as a strategic partner.

ABPI Code compliance for Medical Information
Tannyth Cox, Deputy Director, PMCPA (Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority)

Medical Information staff have to be very mindful of the Code.  This will be a lively session no doubt, discussing how the Code impacts advertising MI services.  And of course we’ll discuss self-service MI solutions.

Digital initiatives impacting Medical Information
Ian Hamilton and Alan Henderson, Original Digital

What are the latest digital initiatives that are or could impact Medical Information activities in the future? For example, we’ll explore ChatGPT and debate if it is friend or foe!

Mini-discussion sessions

Brexit – how are companies practically managing different MAs for GB and Northern Ireland?
Plus questions from the floor

Previous conference feedback

Previous delegates have rated the day highly, linking:

  • Relevant agenda with a final Q&A session to ask your own questions (anonymously if needs be)
  • Practical ideas to implement, inspirations for service development and opportunity to canvas opinions for your ‘what are others doing about this’ questions
  • Small conference size of about 30-40 people
  • Great opportunities to network, discuss and share ideas to help shape your own department policies

Who should attend?

The day is aimed at Medical Information managers, team leaders and senior staff, but all are welcome.
